pure of heart Poetry by Daisy Alioto

If I was an NPC I would say,

you can’t defeat me, I'm too pure of heart.

Happiness is such a small thing in my fist.

I hear the sirens at Indian Point from our bed:

Security Force-on-Force Drills
will be conducted at Indian Point on May 2, 9, 16, and 23.
The drills will be conducted from 7:30pm - 11pm.

For community awareness, you may hear simulated gunfire
or increased activity at the plant from the waterfront.
No reason to be alarmed.

I do not hear simulated gunfire.

I do not hear you when you sneak up on me in the shower,

which I’ve asked you not to do anymore.

Not that it was ever your fault.

I could throw this Pantene bottle like omfg so hard.

When I imagine my life I think of you at the center.

How do you see me?

Like a rabbit inside a hat.

How do I see you?

Like a hat inside a rabbit.

If I was an NPC I would say,

Happiness is such a small thing in my fist.

You can’t defeat me.

I’m too pure of heart.
