Having Taken to My Bed

Poetry by C. Francis Fisher

You drag me to the Angelika
where a marquee blinks
the offerings. We stop
at the counter for Milk duds

and Coke. Here, in the ambient light
of the screen, you might
make a break for my mouth.
I could laugh, but that would be

confusing. For once, let
the cinema of my throat excite
you, the pulsating silence – but I guess we
can’t have everything. Or maybe we can!

Last night walking home alone
I saw a man eating pizza with his dick out –
small and beige and floppy like the slice
he forced into his mouth with just one hand.
